Setup Instagram Feed

Here are the steps to follow to configure the Instagram feed on Paloma.

Update to Paloma version 1.2.0

Make sure you are using Paloma version 1.2.0 or newer. You can update by going to Appearance > Themes > Paloma and follow the steps to update.

Install Instagram Plugin

The Instagram plugin used is called Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed. If you’ve installed the recommended plugins, you should already have this installed.

If not, you can go to Appearance > Install Plugins and click Install for the Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed

Configure Plugin

Go to the “Instagram Feed” tab of your dashboard, then click “Connect an Instagram Account”. Follow the prompts to connect your account.

Add Widgets

Note: if you’ve installed the demo content with the theme, this step should be done for you already. Your feed should now be successfully configured.

Go to Appearance > Widgets to add the new Instagram feed.

Add a Custom HTML widget to the Instagram Footer widgetized area and paste in the following shortcode:

[instagram-feed showheader=false showbutton=false showfollow=false width=100 widthunit=% imageres=full cols=3 num=6 imagepadding=0]

Add a Custom HTML widget to the Sidebar widgetized area and paste in the following shortcode:

[instagram-feed showheader=false showbutton=false showfollow=false cols=2 num=6 imagepadding=0]

Add Custom Javascript

Go to Instagram Feed > 2. Customize > Custom Javascript and paste the following:

Note: The following steps are for users updating from an older version of Paloma only.

Clear your browser cache

To make sure you are viewing the most up to date version of your site, clear your browser cache following the steps here. This step is for people who recently updated their theme

Disable WP Instagram Widget

You can disable the old WP Instagram Widget plugin from your site if you are no longer using it.
