Preparing Template Graphics
This page is where you can access all of the graphic templates included in the template. Click the button below the graphic you want to edit, and that graphic will open in Canva where you can make changes and download the edited versions for your site.
How to Edit Canva Graphics
All of the graphic elements in this template (that are not native to Squarespace) have been created on Canva so they are easy to edit for designers and non-designers alike. If you’ve never used Canva before, here is a great beginner’s guide that Canva has put together.
Adding Images as a Background
To add an image as a background, follow the steps below:
Upload your image by clicking “Upload files” or simply dragging your file in.
Drag your image over to the page and release it when the photo fills the image frame.
Double-click to resize and position your image within the frame.
To move your image behind other graphics or overlays, click Position in the top right corner and click Backward or To Back.
*Please note – Some images on the template are image blocks where you can upload your image directly without using Canva. You will see this when scrolling through the template. If you see the photo icon, that means a photo goes there. If there are no effects applied to the photo icon, you can upload your image to the image block. If there are effects such as gradients or overlapping graphics, you will likely need to place the photo in a Canva template to maintain the look of the template. Adding Images to Placeholder Boxes
In many of the templates, there are several placeholder boxes where you can add images. To use these, upload an image or use an image from Canva’s library and drag it onto the placeholder frame. It will automatically crop to fit that area.
You can adjust the image within the box by double-clicking it, making edits, and pressing Return on your keyboard.
