Tell us about yourself!

I am a certified Holistic Health Practitioner who empowers ambitious, career-focused women with autoimmune conditions and who are battling burnout to make sustainable lifestyle changes to transform their health naturally. I ‘retired’ from my 21-year long career in the corporate world in June of 2022 to focus on building my holistic health practice and indulge my love of learning through additional trainings and certifications that enable me to support clients from a holistic framework with modalities that are natural, accessible and oftentimes affordable. I hold certifications in functional medicine coaching (through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy), Reiki, Breathwork & Meditation and Yoga Teacher Training. I traded the concrete jungle of NYC (where I was for 15 years) for the green jungle of Costa Rica in October 2020, which was a big part of my own health healing journey and ultimately leaving the corporate career. After 2 years of jungle life, I'm now embracing the geographical independence I'm fortunate to have with being an entrepreneur and thanks to my business model (I work with clients virtually); I'm living out my dream of working and living throughout Central and South America.

How did you get started with your business?

I've always been drawn to the health & wellness world.  Ultimately my own health journey was the catalyst.  I've been navigating autoimmune conditions and burnout for over 20 years. Several years ago, tired of being tired and feeling like I wasn't getting anywhere with western medicine, I wanted to empower myself to be my own healer, so I obtained a holistic health coaching certification through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy.  During the program, I recognized my ability to guide others who are navigating burnout and autoimmune conditions and I really enjoyed it.  After a few years of dabbling in coaching while working my corporate job, which was keeping me stuck in burnout cycles, I decided to go all in and retire from my 20 year career in the corporate insurance world to focus on building my holistic health practice.

What's one of the biggest challenges you've faced along the way?

So far (I'm still fairly 'new') - learning to be nimble & go with the flow with frequent tech challenges and glitches that have taken me way more time than I ever expected & thrown off the 'plans'. Learning to be patient and experiment with marketing as well!

What would you say has been one of your biggest “wins”? Any advice for others looking to start out?

Building the website with limited support (other than Connor!), with a beautiful layout and recently created copyright content that is a fabulous representation of 'me' and my holistic health practice.

Did you have any help building your website or did you do it yourself?

Yes! Connor from Station Seven - he was a blessing and huge asset!   He was beyond patient, timely, responsive & helpful.

Any advice for others looking to start out?

Be committed, be fluid & flexible.  Constantly check in with yourself if what you're doing is aligned with the vision for your business, the impact & reach you want to make, and ultimately how you're feeling.  If you're drained, exhausted, and constantly feeling meh - why?  Are you and your activities out of alignment?  Also, brush yourself off when things don't go as planned, learn & keep moving.  Laugh, move & let the emotions out too:)
