Should You Switch from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1?
With Squarespace 7.1 coming into the picture, a lot of Squarespace users are trying to decide if they should make the switch. We’re here to help you decide which option is best for you and answer a few questions you may have!
Here’s what we think about it
In our opinion, there’s no rush to update if you love your current website. Squarespace has stated that they will be supporting the 7.0 version indefinitely, so there are thankfully no worries about that. Plus, although 7.1 introduces changes to the editing interface, it doesn’t really add any new functionality to the mix.
Can I migrate my 7.0 site into a 7.1 version?
There is currently no way to automatically migrate an existing 7.0 site to 7.1, so you will need to weigh the benefits of upgrading with the effort involved in making the switch.
For example, all content will need to be manually migrated, including blog posts, pages, products, etc. Any comments on your blog posts will be lost, and any existing sales data you have in your shop also won't carry over to your new site.
Review the contents of your website to decide if you have the time and the capacity to move everything over!
