Working with Richard at Palouse River Premium Beef was an incredibly rewarding experience. When he first reached out to us, he was facing several critical challenges with his existing website that were hindering his ability to effectively sell his high-quality beef products online. The most pressing issue was a malfunctioning shipping calculator at checkout, which was overcharging customers and leading to a high rate of abandoned carts and lost sales. Additionally, the site was missing a proper ecommerce sales funnel and lacked a cohesive flow, making it difficult for customers to navigate and complete their purchases. Richard also described an ongoing concern that "something was broken" on the site, but he couldn’t pinpoint the exact problem.

Our first step was to conduct a thorough audit of the site to identify the root causes of these issues. We discovered that the shipping calculator was indeed misconfigured, which was not only frustrating customers but also severely impacting Richard’s bottom line. To address this, we reconfigured the shipping settings and tested the checkout process extensively to ensure that all charges were accurate and transparent. This fix immediately reduced the rate of abandoned carts and helped restore customer trust in the checkout process.

Next, we turned our attention to the overall site flow and ecommerce funnel. We worked closely with Richard to map out a more intuitive customer journey, guiding visitors from the homepage to product pages and ultimately to a seamless checkout experience. By refining the site’s structure and implementing strategic call-to-action buttons, we created a clear and efficient pathway for customers to follow, increasing the likelihood of successful conversions.

Design-wise, the site was in need of a significant facelift. The original design featured skewed photos, poor spacing, and a general lack of cohesion, which detracted from the premium quality of Palouse River’s beef products. We introduced a polished, professional design that reflected the brand’s commitment to excellence. High-quality images, balanced spacing, and a consistent color palette were key elements of the redesign, creating a visually appealing and cohesive experience for visitors.

By the end of the project, Palouse River Premium Beef had a fully functional, aesthetically pleasing website that not only solved the issues Richard was facing but also elevated his brand’s online presence.
